Clothing Size Tables

EU and US size tables by age, height and chest in centimetres, with the measuring instructions that make the numbers usable.

EU children's clothing is sized by body height in centimetres. Size 92 fits about 87-92 cm and size 116 about 111-116 cm; the number in the size name is the upper end of the range.

US toddler sizes map roughly to height: 2T fits about 84-91 cm, 4T about 99-106 cm and size 6 about 114-122 cm. The letter T marks toddler cuts and drops out from size 6 upward.

Age labels are only a rough guide. Two children of the same age can differ by a full size range, so the centimetre measurement decides, not the age on the tag.

Measure the child standing, without shoes, against a wall. Record body height in centimetres and the chest circumference at the widest point.

When the height falls between two ranges, use the chest measurement as the tie-breaker. Take the larger size only if the chest also fits.

Keep the written measurements. The next purchase starts from height and chest in centimetres, not from the last size bought.
